About Andy's Fine Art Classes

In this ongoing weekly art class, young artists will draw a different subject each week while learning sketching and coloring techniques.

Students follow step-by-step guided drawing with award-winning fine artist Andy Villon, creating realistic animals, landscapes, city skylines and more. Along the way, they’ll explore the world—adding background details like jungles, oceans, forests, mountains, or grasslands to complete the scene.

Perfect for beginners through advanced learners, this class helps kids gain confidence in their art skills while having fun.

What Students Will Learn

- Basic Shape Drawing – Break animals into easy shapes like circles, ovals, and rectangles for accurate proportions.

- Shading & Depth – Use light and dark pencil strokes, hatching, cross-hatching, and blending to make animals look 3D.

- Texture Techniques – Draw fur, feathers, scales, or smooth skin using the right pencil strokes.

- Color Blending – Layer and blend colors for realistic or vibrant effects.

- Habitat Drawing Skills – Add background elements like trees, coral reefs, rivers, snowy mountains, and deserts for a complete scene.

They’ll learn how to:

- Create perspective so backgrounds appear farther away.

- Use color choices to separate the foreground and background.

- Add storytelling details that bring the scene to life (like a penguin sliding on ice or a cheetah running across the savanna).

Class Highlights:

- Learn how to draw animals step-by-step in a fun and supportive setting.

- Develop art skills while learning about animal habitats and nature

- Designed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced artists.

About the Teacher

Professional and award-winning fine artist Andy Villon guides learners step-by-step, showing exactly how to draw each feature—from the curve of a tail to the sparkle in an eye. Andy uses one camera on his face and another close-up on his drawing pad so every detail is easy to follow. If a student needs help or gets behind, they can ask questions at any time and receive direct guidance.

With a new animal and habitat each week, students not only improve their art skills but also build confidence and creativity—one drawing at a time!
